Commissioning Websites
There are various organisations and businesses that have been set up to advertise Tenders. Here is a snap-shot of a few:
Tenders Direct has been developed by Millstream Associates. They produce tenders for contracts of all sizes and almost every market sector from construction tenders and cleaning tenders to healthcare tenders or IT tenders. They also supplement the OJEU tenders that they publish with many lower value tenders sometimes referred to as 'below threshold tenders' not published in the European Journal. Many of the tenders are sourced directly from procurement websites, they also include all of the tenders published in 'Tenders Electronic Daily' (TED). TED is a database of European tenders that forms part of the European Commission's 'Official Journal of the European Union' (OJEU) - formerly known as OJEC.
Most of their tenders are Central Government Tenders, Local Council Tenders, MOD Tenders, NHS Tenders and tenders published in the Education, Transport & Emergency Services sectors. In addition to public sector tenders, utility organisations involved in Power Generation, Water, Oil and Gas also publish Official Journal tenders. In addition to tenders being published from within the UK and Ireland, European tenders are published from member states of the European Union. www.tendersdirect.co.uk
Supply2.gov.uk is the only official Government lower-value (typically below £100,000) contract opportunity portal, created by the Government to provide small businesses with access to lower-value public sector contracts – a huge potential market expected to exceed £175billion* this year within the UK alone. (*Source: www.hm-treasury.gov.uk). The Supply2.gov.uk portal unites buyers and suppliers together for the first time and is cited as a best practice means of advertising lower-value contract opportunities by HM Treasury and the European Commission. www.supply2.gov.uk
CompeteFor is a free service and is the chosen site of London 2012 for the publication of Games-related contract opportunities. It acts as a brokerage service between buyers throughout the London 2012 supply chain and potential suppliers. CompeteFor also provides access to business support services; building skills and capacity to ensure that businesses across the UK can access opportunities linked to the hosting of the London 2012 Games. CompeteFor has been developed on behalf of the English Regional Development Agencies and UK Devolved Administrations by the London Development Agency, working closely with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
Businesses of any size can use the CompeteFor brokerage service as a buyer or supplier of Games-related goods and services. You will first need to register the basic details of your organisation. This will allow you to view opportunities and gain access to Games-related business news and events. You will also be able to post opportunities as a buyer.
To apply for contracts listed on CompeteFor as a supplier, you must complete and publish a full business profile. Once your profile is published, you will also be able to track your activity and search for other suppliers with whom you may wish to partner. You will not be able to respond to available opportunities until your profile is fully published. www.competefor.com
